Goa Ophthalmological Association

Goa Ophthalmological Association is possibly the only one in the country, the initials of which match with the name of the state it represents - GOA, as one of our senior members succinctly expressed in a published write-up a few years ago. It came into existence more than five decades ago with Dr. Rajadhyaksha as the Founder Secretary, Dr. Kashinath Sardessai as the Founder Treasurer and Dr.Joao Filipe Ferreira as the Founder President.

The Association has been successfully striving to achieve the visionary objectives of its founding members which were to improve the existing standards of the Ophthalmological practice and consequently better services to our community and to foster a personal bond of friendship and understanding among the eye specialists. We have come a long way and are ready for the challenges of maintaining the balance between ever evolving technological advances in the field, preserving clinical and socio-cultural professional competence and welcoming new Gen-Z ophthalmologists into our fold.
